PASAR Foundation Empowers Local Youth with Wheel Loader Training Program

Isabel, Leyte — Fourteen males and one female participant are currently undergoing an intensive 23-day Wheel Loader Training under the Community-Based Training for Heavy Equipment Operators. This program is a collaborative initiative by the PASAR Foundation and the Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation (PASAR), aimed at equipping local youth with the skills and competencies required for employment in the company’s Mobile Pool Operations.

The training program, which began earlier this month, is part of PASAR’s broader commitment to fostering community development and providing sustainable livelihood opportunities. Designed to develop both technical proficiency and a strong sense of responsibility, the program covers theoretical instruction, hands-on practice, and safety training to ensure participants are well-prepared for the demands of the job.

The trainees, all of whom hail from local communities, have expressed gratitude for the opportunity. “This training is a stepping stone towards a better future for me and my family,” shared one of the participants.

PASAR Foundation and PASAR envision this program as a means of not only addressing the skills gap in the region but also strengthening the company’s workforce with motivated and competent individuals from the community. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will have the chance to join PASAR’s Mobile Pool Operations team, contributing to the company’s industrial activities.

The 23-day training is expected to conclude on the second week of April, with a graduation ceremony planned to honor the hard work and dedication of the participants.
