The Community-Based Training for Heavy Equipment Operators (CB-THEO) is a specialized program initiated by the PASAR Foundation Inc. to empower communities in Isabel Leyte and neighboring towns. The program provides essential skills in heavy equipment operation, focusing on dump trucks, forklifts, wheel loaders, and hydraulic excavators.
The comprehensive 23-day training program includes 5 days of classroom sessions for theoretical knowledge and safety protocols, followed by 16 days of practical training to enhance hands-on skills. The program concludes with a 2-day skills assessment to evaluate trainees' competency and readiness.
After completing the CB-THEO program, participants transition to On-the-Job Training (OJT) at PASAR’s Mobile Pool Operation. This one-year practical experience allows individuals to apply their skills in a real-world setting and further improving their capabilities as heavy equipment operators.
CB-THEO is an integral part of the PASAR Foundation's skills and livelihood projects, aiming to empower communities, foster skill development, and create sustainable employment opportunities in the heavy equipment operation sector. The program emphasizes technical expertise and safety practices to ensure the holistic professional growth and success of its participants, targeting both men and women.
For the year 2023, a total of one hundred four (104) trainee-operators have sucessfully completed their respective trainings. Roughly 70% of these graduates are now onboard their on-the-job training at PASAR Corporation; wherein three (3) graduates are now on probationary status as Streetsweeper Operators.
